Living In Between (1997)

I live in between the waters of the wooded inland ocean
Of all the places for a west coast boy, who’d have thought of Michigan?
And far about the earth, my home looks like a green and outstretched palm
Living in between the waters In the hollow of the Maker’s hand

And we live in between the people we will become and those we used to be
And in the meantime, how we struggle with how different you are from me
And far away from disappointed ghosts and fears of what we’ll come
All we’re left with is this moment
In the hollow of the Maker’s hand

Some folks feel like in between is just too much uncertainty
Living in between the place we left and some other place we’re meant to be
But life’s no dress rehearsal for some future passion play
All we’re left with is this moment In the hollow of the Maker’s hand
There’s no dress rehearsal, we just live it day to day
Live the passion in this moment In the hollow of the Maker’s hand
In the hollow of the Maker’s hand
